Note from Robert Sadin -
I had heard about Juno from my friend and colleague Peter Cho; I knew he was doing very interesting work. When Juno approached me about remixing some of the music from “Art of Love” I was intrigued. Art of Love is already a sort of remix of the original Machaut, so Juno’s reinterpretation of this reinterpretation was bound to be interesting.
I expected Juno to be drawn to the more rhythmic selections…possibly to create new loops underneath. This would be worth doing….but the direction that Juno took was far more inventive and truly unexpected.
Juno has worked on two of the most lyrical songs on the album. Force of Love and Tu, meu sonho. Rather than exploring the rhythmic elements as a driving force, he went deep into the melodic and textural aspects. He has created a deep montage of sound which reveals the music in a new and very alluring way.
I am so very pleased that he is now associated with Art of Love.
I look forward to many collaborations in the future.
Thanks, Juno.
Robert
